ThisVid Upload Guide: Rights Before Participation
An upload control is not permission to post any file; account access, documented rights, consent and current platform rules still govern every submission.

Uploading creates legal, privacy and account consequences that passive browsing does not, so rights and retention questions belong before file selection.

CHAPTER A
Confirm that the account action is available
The current Upload control directs unauthenticated visitors toward login, and registration availability is a separate live condition. Do not rely on third-party forms or messages that imitate the official workflow.
The signup and login guide covers current access, while the platform workflow guide explains where contribution fits.
CHAPTER B
Verify rights and consent before selecting a file
Only post material when every required right and adult-consent obligation can be supported. A visible category or similar existing upload is not evidence that another file is permitted.
For an infringement or removal issue, use the current official copyright, takedown or support route. The ThisVid safety guide explains how to verify the destination first.
CHAPTER C
Plan for profile and retention consequences
Uploads may connect content, comments and moderation history to a member profile. Deleting a local file or logging out does not automatically remove a platform copy or every trace.
The community and profiles guide covers identity exposure, and the private-video guide explains why restricted visibility is not the same as guaranteed confidentiality.
